Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026  ·  Gem Slap

Overview

Gem Slap ("the Game") is operated by Ben Swieskowski ("I," "me," or "my"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you play Gem Slap, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.

By using Gem Slap, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Game.

Information Collected

I collect information in two ways:

1. Locally in your browser (not transmitted to me)

Gem Slap stores your game progress — including high score, best level reached, best chain reaction, total crystals shattered, and games played — in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to me or any third party. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

2. Automatically via analytics and advertising tools

I use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel) to understand how people use the Game and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. These tools automatically collect:

Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC under their own privacy policy. I only receive aggregated, anonymized reports and do not have access to data that identifies you personally. You can learn more at Google's Privacy Policy and opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Meta Pixel data is processed by Meta Platforms, Inc. under their own privacy policy. This data may be used by Meta to deliver targeted advertisements on Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and to build audience segments. You can learn more at Meta's Privacy Policy and manage your ad preferences at Meta Ad Preferences.

I do not collect your name, email address, phone number, payment information, or any other personally identifying information directly.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Google Analytics and Meta Pixel use cookies and similar tracking technologies to distinguish users and analyze usage patterns. These are small files stored in your browser. The Meta Pixel may also use tracking pixels (small invisible images) to record page visits and in-game events. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect the functionality of some websites you visit.

How Information Is Used

Analytics and pixel data is used to:

I do not sell or rent your information to third parties. Data shared with Google and Meta is governed by their respective privacy policies and data processing agreements.

Future Changes to Data Practices

Gem Slap may add features in the future — such as additional advertising networks or in-app purchase systems — that involve additional data collection or third-party processors. If and when this occurs, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those features go live, and the "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the change. Your continued use of the Game after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Children's Privacy

Gem Slap is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information in connection with the Game, please contact me at the address below and I will promptly take steps to delete any such information.

Data Retention & Deletion

Local browser data (localStorage) is retained on your device until you clear it through your browser settings. Analytics data is retained by Google and Meta according to their standard retention policies. Because I do not directly collect personally identifying information, there is typically no personal data on my end to delete — however, please contact me with any questions or requests.

California Residents (CCPA)

California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. Since I do not sell personal information and do not directly store personally identifying information about you, most CCPA provisions regarding data access, deletion, and opt-out of sale do not apply in the traditional sense. For analytics data held by Google or Meta, please refer to their respective CCPA disclosures. For questions specific to your California rights, contact me below.

International Users

Gem Slap is operated from New York, United States. If you access the Game from outside the US, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Game, you consent to this transfer.
